FEBRUARY 23, 2010 –cPacket Networks President and CTO Rony Kay was invited to speak at the STAC Performance Summit conference on latency monitoring for financial institutions. Mr Kay's presentation "Latency Measurment: Myths and Fallacies" highlighted the confusion in the market around low latency and accurate latency measurement. A key observation was that getting to microsecond accuracy is not possible, if the data is corrupted by large stochastic variability introduced by the network and measurement tools (garbage in garbage out). Stochastic variations can cause significant errors at microsecond resolution and they need to be accounted for in order to provide the desired accuracy targets. cPacket products and technology eliminate undesired variability and provide the most accurate measurement of latency and microbursts for sub microsecond accuracy.
