ANALYST CITES CPACKET AS IMPORTANT PLAYER IN LARGE MARKET
FEBRUARY 8, 2008 – In a recent report from Genuity Capital Markets, analyst Richard Sung notes that cPacket's novel, low-cost and high-speed integrated chip technology enables more widespread deployment of deep packet inspection applications.
Excerpts follow, for the full report, please contact Genuity Capital.
"The market for DPI is forecast to experience strong growth over the
coming years, as service providers look to not only control the amount
of capex required to support their customer bases, but to also better
monetize their positions as the primary portal to consumer broadband
users. We believe the market for service provider DPI was north of $300
million in 2007, and we expect it to grow to more than $1 billion in
2011. . . The availability of full-duplex 10 Gbps DPI from chip vendors
like cPacket Networks lowers the barriers to entry for companies wishing
to enter the DPI market and allows visibility into devices that have
traditionally not done DPI, such as routers and switches. We believe
that low-cost DPI silicon is being considered for inclusion into certain
high-end telecom equipment gear - an assertion that appears to be coming
true given Cisco's launch of its Programmable Intelligent Services
Accelerator (PISA) blade for its 6500 Switch family, which provides
high-speed full duplex deep packet inspection capabilities."

About cPacket Networks
cPacket Networks is an emerging leader in chips and
technologies that offers breakthrough, “complete” packet inspection, at a
fraction of the complexity, power, or cost of preexisting approaches. It
provides manufacturers of routers, switches and other network appliances a
low-impact means to easily drop game-changing, wire-speed active network
traffic analysis and response directly into their existing or planned designs –
whether targeted at the service providers, the enterprise, or the small office.
The exploding use of networks for media-centric applications makes the
availability of truly pervasive deep packet inspection timely and crucial.
cPacket was founded in 2003 and is located in Mountain
View, CA. For more information, visit www.cpacket.com.
